New Young Leaders Network (YLN) programme starts at Bradford Academy

On Monday 12th November we started a new Primetime YLN  Young Leaders Award programme at Bradford Academy, East Bowling. We are looking forward to working with Bradford Academy to deliver our YLN programme to 15 young people over the coming months.

For more information about the YLN programme, please see:  www.primetimeyln.com

Primetime wins National Award!

On Wednesday 7th November, Primetime YLN received the silver award in the Best Replicable Project category at the Christian Funders’ Forum Awards at Mercers’ Hall in London for their Young Leaders Network programme. The awards showcased powerful initiatives that have been at work in communities through the UK and demonstrate how faith groups contribute at least £3 billion worth of social and welfare support to the UK every year, helping 48 million in the process.

Through our peer learning and interactive training sessions, PrimetimeYLN supports young people as they train to become effective leaders in their community. Through this initiative, young people are empowered to volunteer in their local community and gain a nationally recognised accreditation.

We were surprised but delighted to receive the award. We simply want to make life better for young people within our community. I’m really proud of all the Young Leaders who volunteer and give up their time – it’s great to see that others recognise all they do.”

– Rosie Dixon, National Lead for PrimetimeYLN

Primetime Bradford’s bucket collection at Bradford City FC

Primetime Bradford was successful in completing a bucket collection at Bradford City Football Club on Saturday 3rd November. Over 800 people voted for Primetime Bradford to become the Club’s first charity partner and host the bucket collection at the Club’s home fixture against Portsmouth. The day involved members of Primetime Bradford being located around the Northern Commercials Stadium collecting donations and telling supporters about the amazing work we do.

Members of Primetime spoke in the Club’s hospitality suites and met the Club’s ambassadors who applauded Primetime on the work that we do. In total, we raised £474.40. All funds raised went directly to our work.

Thank you to everybody who gave generously on Saturday. All of the funding raised will go towards supporting local children, young people and their families. It has been a great privilege to work with Bradford City and be able to share our story to Bradford City fans.”

– John Myers, Project Manager, Primetime Bradford
